We are now happy to refer to a Licensed Massage Therapist that is available daily. Appointments are available for scheduling and can be utilized by both current patients and those who may only be interested in massage. After Dr. Byrne evaluates the patient for what is required, he can specify what the best treatment that is necessary for recovery.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is focused more on the deepest layers of the muscle tissues, tendons and fascia. This helps to target deep knots and adhesions while releasing chronic muscle tension. Other benefits include reduced inflammation and scar tissue release. Deeper techniques may be slightly uncomfortable and lead to soreness that lasts a couple of days before resulting in the desired relaxation and pain relief.
Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage is the most commonly offered and best known type of massage therapy. It uses a vigorous system of treatments designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation. The therapist generally uses massage oils or lotions to facilitate making long, smooth strokes over the body. The purpose of this massage is relaxation only.
